Painting divided into two parts by a thin, brown band; in the upper zone Lari, who distinguish themselves from other human figures because of their biggesr dimenbsions, are represented by short, multicoloured tunics and typical horn, also called rhyton, from which pour gushes of wine; in the middle, wearing a white tunic and a red mantle on his head, is depicted with a horn of plenty in his left hand, while executing sacrifices on the marble altar, accompanied by an attendant in the sacred ceremonies, also called camillus; in front of the victimarius swaggers the flute player; in the lower fragment are represented two agathodemon snakes, protector genii of the hearth, that slither on the high grass towards an altar where are offered eggs and flat bread to them; from Pompei. - Naples, Italy - 2008/Luigi Spina/Electa/Mondadori PortfolioMondadori Portfolio courtesy of MiBAC/Authorization required for not editorial use. Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
